Rapid Covid Antigen Tests
How do our rapid antigen test video appointments work?
Step 1: Book your Covid-19 antigen test
To leave or re-enter the UK you can book a remote video appointment for a Covid-19 antigen test rather than coming to clinic.
Check your destination country accepts an antigen test rather than requiring a PCR test.
Step 2: Collect your antigen test or request courier delivery
We will deliver the test kit to your UK address or it can be collected in person from our Surrey clinic.
You can also purchase a spare Covid-19 antigen test kit as an inconclusive result will require you to repeat your test
(this can affect up to 5% of tests). Spare kits are sold at a discounted cost of £10.
Step 3: Pack your antigen Covid-19 test kits
Remember to pack the antigen kit in your suitcase if you are testing abroad for a remote video consultation.
Book your video appointment - this needs to be 1-3 days before your return to the UK.
Step 4: Video Consultation & Certificate
At the time of your appointment, securely log-in for your supervised antigen test with one of our trained health advisors.
Email a clear photograph of the QR code and result on your test cassette after 15-20 minutes.
Your Fitness to Travel Certificate will be emailed to your device within 1 hour.

The PCR test detects the genetic material in the COVID-19 virus called RNA. When the swab sample reaches the lab, a solution known as a ‘reagent’ is added. If there is virus present this reagent starts a ‘chain reaction’ and creates billions of copies of the genetic material in the virus so that there is enough that it can be detected and analysed by scientists to provide a positive result. This test is also known as an RNA, genetic, molecular, viral detection or swab test.
A Rapid Antigen test looks for the presence of specific proteins called antigens based on the surface of the virus from a nose or throat swab sample and is not as sensitive as the PCR test in detecting COVID-19.
You should always check the testing entry requirements for the country you are visiting before you book an antigen test to check the results will be valid.

If your test result is inconclusive this indicates you ‘may’ be infected with coronavirus, or the antigen test was unable to confirm a definite negative or positive result. In this situation it is advised to repeat your test with a further sampling kit. If the result is still is still inconclusive you should be tested with a molecular PCR test to exclude coronavirus.
If you test result is positive there is a high probability you are infected with COVID-19. You will not be able to travel without a negative molecular PCR test which is considered the ‘gold standard’ for identifying SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19). You should contact a healthcare provider in your local destination to organise testing. If you are in the UK contact NHS 119.
