In Clinic Covid PCR Tests

Follow the steps below to book your Day 2 or Day 8 PCR Covid Test. Once confirmed we will send you a reference for your Passenger Location Form.

1. The Covid Test Package includes appointments for 2 Covid-19 tests, Day 2 and Day 8 clinic tests at the Medwyn Centre in Dorking, Surrey.

2. ou will be asked to complete a consent form which pertains to how we conduct the tests.

3. If you opt to change one or more of your clinic tests for a home testing kit the cost for providing this service to you remains unchanged. Medwyn Occupational Health will require 5 days notice of this change to ensure postal delivery on or before Day 2 of your quarantine period (Your arrival date is classed as day zero) .

4. If you have chosen the option to purchase a day 5 Test to Release clinic test this appointment will be provided to you separately.

5. Your PCR swab will be sent by courier to our lab on the day of your test. We will use our best endeavours to ensure your COVID-19 test is delivered for testing and confirmation of result to your email address to your email address by 6pm the next day. If your test result is negative for COVID-19 infection you will be allowed to end your quarantine.

6. When booking your Day 2 / Day 8 quarantine test, or your Day 5 early Test to Release PCR Covid-19 swab test you agree to Medwyn Occupational Health sharing your personal information with Salient Bio Laboratory for the purposes of processing your test, providing your results and sharing necessary data with Public Health England and the Department of Health and Social Care.

7. Payment and Refunds
Once confirmed and booked, all COVID-19 PCR clinic maybe changed or refundable with at least 48 hours notice. An administration charge of £20 will be levied against refunds. Payment will be taken from the credit or debit card provided at the time of booking.

8. Please review the booking carefully and ensure all the details are correct. The quarantine address will be registered with the UK Government and should not be changed unless a Day 5 Test to release has been taken and alongside the Day 2 test is negative.

9. If you do not receive an email confirmation within 10 minutes of booking, please check your spam or junk email before contacting the Medwyn Covid team on +44 (0) 1306 873942 or enquiries@medwynoh.co.uk. We can only respond to the email address provided at the time of booking. Our usual response time to emails is 3 hours during our normal opening times (Monday to Friday 08:30 to 19:00 and Saturday / Sunday 09:00 to 15:00.

10. You must have a confirmed booking test reference number from Medwyn Occupational Health prior to travel to England.

11. A confirmation email: to let you know your booking test reference number has been processed. Please retain this for your Passenger Locator Form. This should be received by automated email within 10 minutes of your booking payment.

12. Passenger Locator Form
You are required by the UK Government to complete the Passenger Locator Form online before you arrive in the UK; or, if you later decide to add a Day 5 Test to Release PCR swab after you have arrived in the UK if this wasn’t submitted on your original PLF. https://www.gov.uk/provide-journey-contact-details-before-travel-uk

13. You cannot use the Test to Release scheme if you have been in or through any country that is on the travel ban red list in the 10 days before you arrive in England. You can take a test no earlier than the 5th day after arrival in England. If you arrive in England on Monday, Tuesday will be your first full day of quarantine. You can take a test no earlier than the 5th day after arrival in England - Saturday. You must continue to quarantine while you await your test result.

Medwyn Occupational Health is located in Dorking Surrey, a short drive from the M25 motorway that orbits London and connects the city’s airports; Heathrow, Gatwick and Stanstead. A large Pay & Display car park is located behind the Medwyn Centre. 

Dorking’s mainline rail station is served by Southern Rail to London and Great Western Railway to Guildford and Reading. The clinic It is a short walk from the rail station.

Day 2 and Day 8 Covid-19 PCR clinic tests

 

What is a Day 2 or Day 8 RT-PCR Clinic Test?

On arrival into England it is mandatory to take a Covid-19 PCR test on Day 2 and Day 8 of your 10 day quarantine. Arrivals from countries on the UK Government’s Green List can book a Day 2 clinic test for £109 whilst arrivals from countries on the Amber list will need to purchase Day 2 and Day 8 for £189. Day 2 and Day 8 clinic PCR tests can be purchased separately for £109 each.

Our trained clinicians will administer the PCR swab test and assist in the completion of the online laboratory declaration.

What happens if I don't take a Covid-19 PCR test?

Covid-19 PCR tests are mandatory, If you do not take the PCR tests you may be faced with a penalty fine. For more information please see the Government Website

Is there a minimum age for taking a PCR test?

All adults and children aged 5 and over will need to take a PCR test on Day 2 and Day 8 during a 10 day quarantine. This includes the Day 5 Test-to-Release if you intend to purchase this also.

How is a PCR test taken?

A PCR test involves inserting a thin, flexible swab stick with a cotton tip into your mouth and nose in order to sample the presence of Coronavirus. The swab is rotated several times in both before being withdrawn and it is then sealed in a tube to be sent to a lab for analysis. This can be somewhat uncomfortable and varying levels of discomfort may exist for up to 24 hours.

In all cases our trained clinicians will talk through the process and any concerns you have.
