Musculoskeletal Occupational Health
The term musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) covers any injury, damage or disorder of the joints or other tissues in the upper/lower limbs or the back. According to the Health & Safety Executive statistics 2018/2019, it is estimated that 498,000 workers suffer from work-related MSDs. Work-related MSDs account for 29% of all working days lost due to work-related ill health.
Musculoskeletal occupational health is a cost-effective method of preventing and managing work-related MSDs. Following an employee referral, we will assess the condition and provide a specific programme of rehabilitation and education.
Physiotherapy
Medwyn OH can offer physiotherapy services. Physiotherapy is extremely effective with musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs), such as neck and back pain.
In one study, 80 per cent of people who had physiotherapy for their MSD were able to carry on working and did not have to go off sick.
The physiotherapist will assess the employee’s health issues, provide the physical treatment required and give relevant preventative advice.
